Tumours

People are living longer and longer and their skin is exposed to damaging influences for a longer time. It is therefore to be expected that tumours are becoming more common on the skin of the face and the oral mucous membrane.

The face is our most important means of communication

Our face represents the most important means of communication for mankind because it is the strongest reflection of our identity. A cancerous change to our face, caused by a tumour for example, can be similar to a loss of identity. These days we are observing more and more tumour diseases of the facial skin (basal cell carcinomas) and the oral mucous membrane (carcinomas), or their preliminary stages.

The aim is to restore functionality and appearance completely

Surgical treatment represents the best chance of curing the disease. Unavoidable defects of the facial soft tissues or the jaw bone are reconstructed by means of soft tissue surgery and using the patient’s own bones taking functional and aesthetic considerations into account. The aim is to restore functionality and appearance completely.
